We were pleased to work with this returning customer once again to help expand their existing solar energy system and increase the amount of clean energy powering their home.
Originally equipped with a 12-panel solar array, the homeowner wanted to take advantage of available rebates while further reducing their reliance on grid electricity. Because the household includes an electric vehicle that is regularly charged at home, increasing solar production was an effective way to offset a larger portion of their overall energy consumption.
After evaluating the property, our team determined there was room to add 10 additional solar panels to the existing 12 panel system. The upgrade included 10 high-efficiency Longi 500W solar panels and 5 APsystems DS3-L microinverters, seamlessly integrated with the original installation. We also upgraded the solar generation equipment with a new combining panel and electrical components to accommodate the expanded array.
With the addition complete, the home now features a 22-panel solar system capable of generating approximately 12,000 kWh of clean electricity annually. The expanded system is expected to offset approximately 58% of the household's yearly electrical consumption, including energy used to charge their electric vehicle.
Projects like this demonstrate how solar can grow alongside a homeowner's energy needs. By expanding an existing system rather than starting from scratch, homeowners can continue to maximize their savings, reduce their environmental impact, and make the most of available solar incentives.
