Solar Trade Assistant
As a Solar Trade Assistant/Labourer, your primary role is to complete roof and ground solar installations in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. You will work closely with the Crew Lead and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and that customers receive exceptional service throughout the installation process.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Installation & Safety:
- Roof and Ground Installations: Perform solar panel installations on both roofs and ground mounts, ensuring work is done safely and efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Lead safety discussions, complete paperwork, and adhere to all fall protection and safety regulations.
- Equipment Setup: Set up ladders, fall protection anchors, and ropes, ensuring all equipment is secure before installation.
- Solar System Layout & Installation:
- Layout Interpretation: Understand and interpret solar panel layouts and install systems in alignment with specifications.
- Anchor & Racking Installation: Identify roof joists, and install anchors, L-feet, rails, and splices with precision. Ensure the final layout is aesthetically pleasing, level, and straight.
- Micro-inverters & Cabling: Layout and install micro-inverters, rooftop junction boxes, and cabling for string inverters.
- Leadership & Training
- Crew Support: Assist the Crew Lead in training and leading the installation team, helping with complex tasks, and ensuring safety standards are met.
- Team Coordination: Provide guidance to team members and ensure efficient workflow during installation.
- Customer Service:
- Customer Interaction: Deliver excellent customer service in person and via phone, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly. Escalate issues to the Crew Lead when necessary.
- Professional Communication: Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with customers.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Safety: Fall protection certification (Preferred) and ability to work safely on a variety of roof types and slopes.
- Installation Skills: Ability to set up ladders, lay out arrays, install anchors, and work with various solar components.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of solar PV parts and ability to complete entry-level tasks under guidance.

Working Conditions:
- Location: Meet at the office daily before heading out to job sites. The office is in Kamloops. Job sites can be all over British Columbia.
- Hours of Work: This can vary depending on the season. Currently, our team is looking at 40-50 hours per week. Slower seasons may see 30-40 hours.
- Wage: Starting pay is $20 to 24 an hour based on hands-on experience in the industry.
