Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Record Keeping: Maintain and update financial records, including purchases, expenses, receipts, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Data Entry: Enter financial transactions into accounting software or spreadsheets with precision and attention to detail.
- Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Invoice Processing: Generate and send invoices to clients, ensuring timely payment and resolving any billing discrepancies.
- Expense Management: Track and manage expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, including calculating hours, preparing payroll checks, and ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare basic financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, for review by management.
- Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing documentation and support for audits conducted by external auditors.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communication: Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support as needed.

What We Expect from You:
- Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in a related industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in bookkeeping (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper).
- Familiarity with billing, finance reporting, and more.
Working Conditions:
- Location: Based at our office in Kamloops, BC.
- Hours of Work: Typically Monday to Friday, with standard business hours.
- Salary: $22-24 an hour to start, with room to grow.
